Seabrook Island, SC

Wade, Avery, and I went to Seabrook Island, SC, for Labor Day weekend and had a blast! We went with 2 other couples from our Sunday school class (Diefenthalers and Baers) and stayed in a two-story, 3 bedroom house. Here are some pictures we took right when we got there...we're so happy (and giggly) to be at the beach!

On Saturday, we took Avery to the beach for the 1st time! After packing up all of her gear and covering her up, head to toe, with SPF 65, we headed out. The beach was just a short walk from our house. When we got there, we noticed that this was a different kind of beach...there were no seashells and hardly any waves at all...but, that turned out to be just perfect for Avery! She loved it!
We dipped her toes in the water and let her play in the sand as she sat in her Bumbo seat. She also played in baby beach tent. The tent was really easy to set up and kept her covered and cool...and the pink sunglasses and baby bikini kept her really cool too!

On Sunday, we went to the pool. She wore her green tankini and pilgrim hat and was happy as could be!

She even fell asleep in my lap! This hasn't happened since she was about 2 months old!:)

It was a great trip! We went to Charleston on Sunday night to meet up briefly with Wade's parents and the Cornells and then we had dinner at Fleet Landing with the Baers. It was a wonderful trip and we plan to go back again sometime next year!

Bye-Bye, Seabrook!!!

  1. How FUN!!!! Looks like you guys had a great time and I think Avery enjoyed it too :) She is so cute! Babies seem to just multiply with cuteness when they put on those swimsuites and sunglasses!
