Surprise! Wade turned 30 last week (Jan. 14th)! With the help of the Eckstroms and Woodards, he was given a surprise birthday dinner at Miyabi and a surprise birthday dessert party at our house!
Miyabi holds a special spot in Wade's heart, so we naturally had it there. When Andrew and Wade were single, the 2 of them would go to Miyabi about twice a week and dominate the fried rice and filet and shrimp. They ate like kings! Well, to remind Wade of his "youth", we went to Miyabi and had a really fun time...the crazy "birthday drum guy" even made an appearance...

Too tart!
After dinner, we headed back to our house for cake and ice cream...and surprise #2!
A houseful of friends to help celebrate!
The not-one-bit-normal birthday cake:
(It says "That's an Old Man. Happy 30th Wade")
I have no idea what was happening in this picture, but Wade looks like he's sort of giving Wes a high-five for using a striker for a birthday candle, right?

Emily with Drew, Robby with Avery, Wilson with Maddie
It was a great night! Avery and Drew look pretty tired, but they hung in there and we all have a really fun time. Happy 30th, Wade!
Also, Bible reading is going really well! The 10th grade girls that I help lead on Sunday nights are all on track with their reading. It's awesome! There are many students and families at FBC that are reading their Bibles right now - over 500 people! It's pretty neat to see so many people at church carrying around their 90 Day Bibles and talking about it.
This week, we're reading Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. It's tough because there isn't much "plot", but a lot of reading about offerings and rules for living. But, I'm plowing through it and praying that I learn more about God at the same time!
If you're reading along with me, then be sure to visit FBC's Student Ministry B90D page for videos, resources, and other good stuff. New content will be posted every day for 90 days!
This Wednesday night, I'll be going to a book study on The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. A lady in my neighborhood is hosting it and some other moms in the neighborhood will be attending too. I'm really looking forward to it!
